Researchers: Eating organic provides much greater nutritional intake vs. conventional foods

(NaturalNews) Despite propaganda put out by the pesticide and genetically modified organism (GMO) industries, the evidence is clear: organic food has a higher nutrient content than food produced with GMOs and synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.

The issue is only increasing in relevance as consumers continue to turn to organic rather than conventionally produced foods. From 2014 to 2015, the amount consumers spent on packaged organic products went from $12.8 billion to $13.4 billion. That doesn’t include sales of organic produce, bulk dried goods, meat, or meals at organic restaurants.

Yet you’ll still hear certain scientists, along with pesticide and GMO company spokespeople, claim that organic food is no better for you than “conventional” food. What’s the truth? (RELATED: Discover more news about healthful vs. harmful food ingredients at Ingredients.news)

Dramatically higher antioxidant content

The evidence for organic foods’ superior nutrient content just keeps getting stronger. In 2011, the journal Critical Reviews in Plant Sciences published what was, at that time, one of the most sophisticated analyses of the prior research comparing nutrient content of organic and conventional foods. They found that in general, organic foods tend to be higher in antioxidants (including vitamin C) and phenolic acids, but may be lower in protein and vitamin A.

They hypothesized that the main difference between the foods is the excessive use of synthetic fertilizers in conventional agriculture, which adds much more nitrogen to the plants’ diets. This leads to a reduction in stress, causing the plants to produce fewer defense-related secondary metabolites, such as vitamin C and other antioxidants. But it may cause the plant to accumulate more nitrogen in the form of protein, and to increase the content of secondary metabolites unrelated to defense, like vitamin A.

The researchers found that the levels of secondary plant metabolite-based nutrients in organic fruits and vegetables were about 12 percent higher in organic than in non-organic produce. Defense-related secondary metabolites in particular were 16 percent higher.

“This subset encompasses most of the important, plant-based antioxidants that promote good health,” the researchers wrote.

In 2014, an even more comprehensive analysis reviewed the findings of 343 prior peer-reviewed studies on the same topic. This paper, published in the British Journal of Nutrition, was the largest such analysis ever performed.

The researchers found much stronger results than the analysis from three years prior. They found that the antioxidant content of organic fruits and vegetable was between 19 and a shocking 69 percent higher than that of non-organic produce. This difference was large enough that shifting to an all-organic diet could provide the same nutritional benefit as eating an extra two servings of fruits and vegetables daily.

Organic food lower in poisons

Higher nutrient content isn’t the only reason that organic food is better for your health, of course. Organic food is guaranteed free of GMOs, which have been linked to organ and reproductive problems.

It is also free from the residue of dangerous pesticides that have also been linked to problems across the health spectrum.

According a study published in the journal Environmental Research, switching to an organic diet can reduce an adult’s overall pesticide exposure by 90 percent. Another study, published in Environmental Health Perspectives, showed the same effect over the long-term. It found that study participants who reported eating a higher proportion of organic produce showed evidence of significantly less organophosphate pesticide exposure than participants who ate mostly conventional produce.

This translates into real health benefits. According to a letter published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, you can reduce your pesticide-related health risk by 94 percent just by eating only organic forms of the top six most pesticide-intensive fruits (currently strawberries, apples, nectarines, peaches, grapes and cherries).

Despite the growing popularity and increasingly strong case for organic foods, farmers have been slow to convert their farmland to organic production. Several major food companies are now offering monetary incentives to help farmers make the switch.

The Amish, who don’t get vaccinated, rarely get autism, cancer, or heart disease – coincidence?

From NaturalNews.com

(NaturalNews) Do not talk about whether vaccines work or not, or whether or not they cause autism, unless you’re ready for a very heated debate. Although the link between vaccines and autism is nothing new, to even speak of it can get you labeled as an “anti-vaxxer” or a health fanatic of sorts by the sheeple (brainwashed masses) that believe every vaccine the CDC recommends not only works, but is 100% safe and 100% effective 100% of the time. Even if some vaccines work some of the time, are they worth the health risk? That is the ultimate question, because one statistic you may not know is that children who receive mercury-containing vaccinations (listed as thimerosal usually) are 27 times more likely to develop autism than those who don’t get those jabs. That comes from a recent study based on the CDC’s own data. Still want to keep it a hush-hush topic?

Pediatricians in America are not allowed to question vaccines at all, nor are they allowed to recommend less than the CDC recommends, or they face the wrath of the AMA – the infamous American Medical Association – that finds a way to shut down the “contenders,” sometimes even taking away their license to practice medicine. Big question: would the statistics of autism suddenly bottom out if mercury was removed from all vaccines, including flu shots? (By the way, the CDC lied when they said mercury has been removed from all vaccines).

Nary is a case of autism in the Amish communities of America

For starters, children are not born with autism. It appears during infancy or childhood, and is brought on by an overload of neurotoxins either consumed, injected or ingested from environmental factors, or all of the above. In fact, the recent autism spectrum disorder (ASD) spike over the past two decades in the USA directly coincides with the vaccine schedule increase, by quantity and frequency, enforced by the CDC. To understand why autism is next to non-existent for the Amish, consider that the Amish have been “cut off” from American scientific and medical “progress” for centuries, thus they’ve had less exposure to the major factors that trigger autism, including the most likely proponent–vaccines.

Take a little trip to the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country and try to tag yourself even half a dozen Amish children with autism and you’ll come up short. If statistics matched our national average, there would be about 200 in the Amish community, but to date, there are only three, one of which was adopted and brought over from China. Go figure. Another one actually did get vaccinated and developed autism shortly afterwards. Go figure again.

Here are some universal and national statistics to consider. Autism affects over 20 million people around the world, and occurs in boys four to five times more often than girls. In the US, one in every 68 children has some form of ASD, a 30% increase from just 2012. Why is that, you’re asking yourself? United States kids get 50 inoculations before age seven, many that are combinations containing multiple disease strains, mercury, formaldehyde (yes, embalming fluid for the dead), monosodium glutamate (MSG) and aluminum, just to name a few neurotoxins. Flu shots contain the highest levels of mercury, up to 25,000 times what the EPA allows as a maximum in drinking water and edible fish. Mercury is the second most poisonous element know to mankind.

Due to religious beliefs, the Amish opt out of all vaccines

Fortunately for the Amish, they’re also opting out of three of the most controversial vaccines on the market today: hepatitis B, HPV (human papillomavirus) and of course, the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella combo) that was implicated in the CDC vaccine-autism-link and biggest medical cover-up in history, ever. Conflicting with CDC claims, the multi-dose version of hepatitis B still contains thimerosal (50% mercury). The immature central nervous systems and the liver of Amish newborns are spared this volatile toxin thanks to their parent’s religious beliefs. Amish children experience hardly any learning disabilities at all, in fact. Nor are the Amish experiencing typical US diseases like cancer, heart disease and diabetes. This could all be because they don’t eat GMO, take chemical pharmaceuticals, or vaccines. Surely, no government run regulatory agency will ever run this comparison of Amish health vs. non-Amish health, but the reality speaks for itself.

Still, the CDC refuses to regulate the vaccine industry and instead literally promotes toxic chemicals, dangerous heavy metal toxins, carcinogens and lethal “preservatives” like mercury. It’s all about lifestyle and natural health these days, if you really want immunity that doesn’t come with a boatload of permanent and debilitating “side effects,” like autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome or liver cancer.

Death From Above: Confessions of a Killer Drone Operator

What happens when you combine radio-controlled planes, highly-skilled video gamers, gps-enabled bombs and unlimited military budgets?  Well, you might get radio-controlled killing machines like ones Brandon Bryant has used for many death missions.

Is this what technology had led to?  I’ve always heard people say that technology was meant to improve our lives.  Isn’t it ironic how its being used to end these peoples lives?  Meanwhile, controllers like Brandon live with the guilt of killing people from the comfort of a reclining chair.  That just seems morally wrong on many different levels.

In 2009, not long after his historic election and seven years after the first U.S. drone strike, President Barack Obama accepted the Nobel Peace Prize. “Even as we confront a vicious adversary that abides by no rules, I believe the United States of America must remain a standard bearer in the conduct of war,” he said. “That is what makes us different from those whom we fight. We lose ourselves when we compromise the very ideals that we fight to defend.”

Secret Google Barge off San Francisco is an Offshore Data Center

Cnet has learned that Google is building a secret data center off the coast of San Francisco.  Made of connected shipping containers that are painted white, the entire structure sits on a barge.  Google has been quiet on the project, denying any involvement.  Signs on the outside confirm the secret nature of the project, stating all cell phones or recording devices are strictly prohibited.  Thats funny coming from a company that made a fortune with such devices.  This coincides with the recent released Google Glass head-mounted recording device.  The sea-bound nature is surprising because it suggests that google is perhaps trying to operate in international waters, outside of US jurisdiction.  Google is perhaps trying to bypass privacy rights.

A shocking look at what happens when we recycle our electronic things.

Sometimes Interesting

Ever wonder where those old used computers end up? How about all those old CRT monitors, cell phones, keyboards, and PDAs? We’re told when we drop off our old electronics for recycling that they will be properly disposed of; in some cases we pay recyclers to ensure our old electronics are disposed of in the correct way.

It is easy to wipe our hands of these discarded items, feeling we’ve done our part – but have we? What we don’t know is what the “recyclers” do with these parts and where the discarded items end up. You rarely hear about electronic waste sites; perhaps it is time we start paying more attention.

Your bad vision may just be lazy eye muscles. Give them a workout. Easily.

Do you wear glasses?

Do you need glasses but putting it off until you can’t really see clearly anymore?

Did humans always need glasses?  Were people just walking around with blurred vision before glasses were invented?  The first pair of corrective eyeglasses were made in the 13th century in Italy.  Humans have been around for about 200,000 thousand years.  Did 75% of early humans need vision correcting lenses as is the case for American adults today?

Well, since the 13th century, BOOKS and WRITTEN LANGUAGES have increased globally.  Does this coincide with the increase of corrective lenses?  Perhaps people could still function properly without 20/20 vision.  I, for example, am nearsighted.  I have no problems during my daily routine until I have to READ something from a distance.  Then I put on my glasses and go the rest of my day with them on, in case I have to read something from a distance.  This then begs the question; does reading change your vision? After all, growning up I didn’t need glasses, I only started to need them at around age 15 after many years of reading.  Could it be related to the very narrow focus required for reading letters?  For most things in life, a quick glance is all that is necessary to identify something.  But reading requires minutes, if not hours of constant focus.  Does this damage your eyes focusing ability?  Growning up, they used to say if you made a funny face for too long it would become permanent.  Maybe that’s true for your eye’s ciliary muscles, the one responsible for focusing.

Has our modern society taxed the natural abilities of our eye’s to the point of permanent damage?  I don’t think Amazonian tribesmen are smacking their faces into trees as they chase prey through the jungle because they can’t see good.  Their eye sight is probably great.  I don’t recall ever seeing a tribesman on Discovery Channel wearing a new pair of $300 Giorgio Armani eyeglasses.

What if there was a way to workout your ciliary muscles?  Turns out there is: pinhole glasses.  The small holes force your eye to constantly refocus to find to see the clearest.  This gives them a much needed workout.  As you try to focus from close objects to distant ones, your ciliary muscles are using their full range of motion which will help your eyes to pinhole glassesregain lost focus range from years of depending on corrective lenses.  Of course, there are other eye conditions which can be the reason for your poor vision for which these glasses would be of little use.  But for the majority of people who just need corrective lenses because of lazy ciliary muscles that no longer fully focus your field of vision, these silly looking glasses may give your eyes the much needed workout they’ve been waiting for to break off that old rust and start to function properly again.

The full details on ciliary muscles and pinhole glasses can be found at this Natural News article.

GMO corn banned in Poland; cites health concerns, massive bee die-off

GMO process

GMO corn is not allowed to be grown, at least in Poland.

Yet in the US, Genetically Modified (GM) corn type MON810 is being grown all over the country.  And most likely you ate some today.  Yes, the GM corn with its own built-in pesticide that was genetically inserted into the DNA of the common corn plant.

Every part of the plant is toxic, yet it is being consumed by basically every American, every day, in one way, shape or form, whether its:

corn syrup (soda, juice drinks, packaged foods, candy)

corn starch (fast food, baked goods, Chinese food, packaged foods)

ethanol vapor (corn-based car fuel)

beer and alcoholic drinks (most American lagers, Mikes Hard, Seagrams)

animal feed (beef, chicken, farmed raised fish, pork)

Also, a recent long term study linked GM corn to tumors, infertility, cancer, total organ failure, premature death and DNA damage in standard laboratory rats, which are used because their bodies respond similarly to a humans body.

Poland has linked the corn to colony collapse disorder (CCD) in honey bees, which are crucial to all plants to reproduce.  It’s seems logical as to why the bees are dying; they gather pollen from GM corn plants that contain built-in pesticides.  That, in itself, kills the bees.  When a company inserts a toxin into a corn plant that is designed to kill a broad range of insects, it is safe to assume the corn is also toxic when consumed in high quantities by larger animals, such as humans.   Americans have a diet that is largely dependent on corn, yet in the US, corn is still king; with the likes of Monsanto running the industry.  The same company that produced and assured us that Agent Orange was safe!

It appears that the rest of the world is slowly but surely banning GM corn and crops for health and environmental reasons.  In the US, however, the bioengineering companies are closely intertwined with our Government. And that adds up to a toxic relationship.

Popular orange juices flavored with secret “flavor packs” not listed on the label

Popular orange juices flavored with secret “flavor packs” not listed on the label.

What happened to fresh squeezed orange juice? Well this article covers how even this simple beverage has been completely industrialized into something just tasting like fresh orange juice.  In the US, most of the juice is imported from Brazil, heated to pasteurize it, stored in giant vats devoid of oxygen for up to one year, then re-flavored with “flavor packs” made by chemical and fragrance companies to get it to taste fresh again.  And the companies are not required to disclose any of this information while still charging a premium for the “Not from Concentrate” claim.

Such a simple thing like drinking fresh juice shouldn’t be so complicated.  For most of human civilization, food was prepared fresh or preserved in a natural way, usually using salt.  We, as humans, have made it this far using these simple food storage strategies. We really do not need the complexity of this massive orange juice operation that, ultimately, is inferior and possibly harmful to humans and the world.

So, in other words, if you want fresh squeezed juice, then squeeze some fresh juice.  Otherwise, you could be drinking some mysterious laboratory-made substance that only claims to be fresh juice.
